In the film, Under The Tuscan Sun (based on the book by Frances Mayes), the exuberant, slightly eccentric character, Katherine, suggests to Frances the directive to “Live life spherically, in all directions.”
At times we feel a desire to grow in some areas of our lives. Perhaps we want to be more creative, or have a sense of more fullness in our spiritual lives. For many of us, the question of “How?” can paralyze our progress. It seems that few important things in life come with a step by step plan.
We don’t necessarily have to see the whole path, we only need to see, to commit to, the first step. I visualize this as stepping stones leading into a light, golden mist. Taking that one step allows us to move into the space where the next steps can become clear. The space, the movement, made with an open sense of possibility is what is important. That first step, or the next step, may not even lead us where we imagined it might, but it makes space for growth and positive change.
Transformational life coaching can help you clarify your next step. This week, do something you’ve never done, but always wanted to. Just for fun. Embrace the new experience of it.
